There are beautiful ripe red fruits on the nose – think plums & strawberries along with a light, alluring spice. The Bosworth Pinot Noir is a middle weight wine with red fruit running through the palate & framed within lovely tannins. This wine goes very well with cheeses, chicken dishes & charcuterie.
2017 Misty Cove Organic Pinot Noir - This wine contains a mixture of traditional organic Pinot Noir clones 777, 115, Abel and 667. It was made through minimal handling intervention and the softest touch. Allowing it to show natural expression of terroir balanced with French oak. The wine is elegantly expressed on the nose showing red cherry, cranberry, mixed spice and toasted nut characters. The palate delivers juicy fruit intensity and supple mouthful, beautifully supported by fine texture and silky tannins. The wine combines youthful fruit flavours with elegant savoury nuances.
The 2012 vintage was low yielding with only 50% of the normal crop, but with a perfect late autumn the grapes were of exceptional quality. The wines are extremely balanced, intense & vibrant.
This Savigny-Les-Beaune ‘Aux Fournaux‘ expresses itself with freshness & fruit, together with a complex, deep structure. A rich palate, that is opulent but not heavy.
This is a ‘bargain’ Burgundy!
All of the Chandon de Briailles burgundies are biodynamic/organically produced & with only a tiny production is certainly the most prestigious producer in Savigny les Beaune.

The 2011 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavieres comes from the domaine's vines planted in 1954. It has a well-defined nose with dried herbs infusing the red plum & cranberry fruit. Slightly leafy, but is well defined & poised. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannins. There is a little hardness, although the judicious dash of black pepper on the finish is welcome. This premier cru just needs to loosen up in bottle.

"The 2014 Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile de Vergelesses, from limestone soils, has a very terroir-driven, mineral-rich bouquet with delicate floral scents developing. The palate is crisp & linear, very well balanced and full of freshness. It exerts a gentle grip at the back of the mouth, the fruit merging red fruit with black on the finish. What a lovely Pernand-Vergelesses from Chandon de Briailles." - Robert Parker
"This is also distinctly cool with its layered nose of restrained dark pinot fruit, earth & soft floral nuances. There is more volume & power to the slightly less refined flavors that possess excellent concentration before terminating in a mildly rustic but not really austere finish. This will need a few years of bottle age to completely flesh out but it should be drinking well after only 4 to 5 years of age." - Burghound

"A wonderfully fresh if somewhat reticent nose grudgingly offers up very ripe notes of dark currant, earth & a pretty range of floral elements. There is once again outstanding richness to the full-bodied, muscular & relatively powerful flavors that culminate in a noticeably warm & structured finale." - Burghound
"The 2015 Pernand Vergelesses les Vergelesses 1er Cru comes from mainly red clayey soils with a high iron content. It has a charming bouquet with blackberry, orange rind & pressed flower notes that frankly put the three 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaunes in the shade. The palate is well balanced with fine tannins, very good balance & crucially, unlike the Savigny-lès-Beaunes, there is satisfying fruité on the tensile finish. This has good potential." - Robert Parker

2016 Misty Cove Fifth Innings Pinot Noir
Whole bunch fermentation and ageing in new French barrique makes the wine instantly appealing with impressive complex notes on the nose showing spiced cherry, dark plum, dried herb, cedar and floral aromas. The palate is concentrated and elegant at the same time, offering wonderful fruit purity brilliantly enhanced by silky texture and deep savoury undertones. A fine wine that is refined and engaging, wonderfully structured by fine, firm tannins. Limited production with only 3000 bottles available; each bottle individually numbered.

"A lean, racy red, featuring cherry, strawberry, spice & mineral flavors. Very compact & linear, this is nonetheless persistent & long on the aftertaste. Coiled & youthful, this will need time to unwind." - Wine Spectator
"I did note that floral elements are evident. There is outstanding volume & good phenolic maturity to the round, velvety & overtly powerful middle weight plus flavors that possess a firm core of tannins on the mouth coating, dusty & impressively persistent finish. This is a serious Corton where patience will also be required." - Burghound
"The 2014 Corton Les Marechaudes Grand Cru has a detailed nose of brambly red fruit, briary, pressed white flowers & limestone - really captivating aromatics ... The palate is fresh & vibrant with refined tannin. There is a gentle but persistent grip here, linear at first but opening slightly towards the citrus finish." - Robert Parker
