  2. Ch. de Pouzols 'Cuvee 1437 Grand Reserve' 2014

GOLD Medal - Concours General Agricole 2016

If you like the top wines from Chateauneuf du Pape, then you will love this wine - and at a fraction of the price.

The "black diamonds" Cuvee 1437 selection from Ch. de Pouzols  is a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mouvedre.

Beginning in the early 1990's some of the most dramatic improvement in French wines came from the Languedic region in southern France.

In particular the Minervois sub-region stands out at the pinnacle of this improvement. This Ch. de Pouzols 2014 proves it.

  9. Ch. de Maris 'Les Planels' 2014

92pts - Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate

"A killer value is the 2014 Les Planels. Made from Syrah, Carignan & Grenache that was completely destemmed (as are all of the releases form Chateau Maris), it shows a darker, smokier profile to go with notions of cassis, scorched earth, graphite & earth on the nose. Aged 12 months in barrel, followed by six months in concrete, it has solid mid-palate density, nicely integrated acidity, excellent overall balance & a clean, dry finish..." - Robert Parker
