- BY the CASE
Graciano is a grape grown primarily in the Spain's Rioja region. After some research David Paxton grafted a row of Graciano onto some old Chardonnay vines to see what the result would be. When you try this wine, you will see that the variety is well suited to the conditions of McLaren Vale.
Lighter in body with distinct savoury & white pepper characters filled out with bright red fruits. Light tannins make this wine ready to drink young.
96 POINTS - JAMES HALLIDAY
'This is a drop-dead beautiful wine, the bouquet perfumed and fresh, the light to medium-bodied palate lined with silky red fruits lasting well into the aftertaste, the balance perfect.'
The 2017 Tempranillo is the first release of this single vineyard wine, with only 100 dozen cases made. This Tempranillo shows great promise for the McLaren Vale region, being a lighter style is approachable & soft with attractive aromatics.

"This offers up a deep pool of lush berry fruit, licorice, chocolate, spice and tobacco that is so seductive you can’t but help but find yourself slipping under. On the palate full bodied with saturating sweet dark berry, cherry, chocolate, cola, dried herb and licorice flavours and superb mid-palate richness with an ample spread of plush velveteen tannins and a smooth creamy texture. Very long and satisfying. It’s a spectacular wine and almost irresistible."
